PENNSAUKEN, N.J. (NJBIZ) – Pennsauken Mayor Betsey McBride joined the Delco Development team at the groundbreaking ceremony for its 204-unit first phase of the Haddon Point apartment complex at 2100 Haddonfield Rd. on Wednesday.
The first phase of the project will be the first multifamily project for Delco Development, which anticipates construction to begin in the next 45 days.
“It’s a great day in Pennsauken, it’s a great day for Pennsauken and it seems kind of fitting that we’re celebrating our 125-year (anniversary) of Pennsauken and we’ve waited sometimes, it seems, almost that long for this site to be developed,” McBride said. “We always had great plans for what would go here, but developers came and went. It’s been 15 years since the site appeared.
“What they bring to this site is years and years of commercial development that have primarily focused in the hospitality business. So, you have the opportunity to take all his best in hotel management and apply it to high-end apartments.”
Delco President Tom Juliano said the firm was attracted to the site because of its proximity to the major highways in South Jersey and his familiarity with the area.
